Britain's Got Talent Beatrix (Trixie) Hart 'killed herself after bullying by pupils and their parents'

A 16-year-old singer who had twice auditioned for Britain's Got Talent killed herself after she was bullied online by youngsters and their parents, her heartbroken family claim.

Talented musician and actress Beatrix (Trixie) Hart seemed destined for stardom before she ended her life, loved ones said.

But family claim she was the target of "vicious" online abuse due to her "alternative" look and jealously over her singing voice.

She would often be found in floods of tears in front of a computer screen and was often called a "slag" and "ugly" by her cruel taunters.

A full inquest will be held at a later date to explore all the circumstances around her death.

But April, of Gunnislake, Cornwall, said she felt the bullying - on top of Trixie's battles with mental health - had become too much for the teen to cope with.

She said: "She was horribly misunderstood, and subjected to bullying online. This was not just from children but also from their parents saying horrible things about her.

"My daughter would say 'for goodness sake Mum, have you seen this?'.

"People fell out with her and called her a slag and told her she was ugly.

"She had an amazing singing voice and I think there was jealousy about that.

"They can't see the awful effect it is having on the person at the other end of it.

"It wasn't just bullying, it contributed to an already anxious girl."

April said bullying via social media was particularly vicious because it couldn't be easily switched off.

She said that one night when Trixie was staying with her, she came down to find her looking at the screen, with tears streaming down her face.

April added: "It is so easy for a gaggle of girls to sit doing this, making these nasty comments, feeling almost that it isn't real because they can't see the tears that have been prompted by the spiteful remarks.
